Coming from a family of Law Enforcement and knowing my father served the City of Norwich 20+ years as a Police Officer I think that needing a petition for something like this is sad. I have personally been on ride alongs with the Department where yes the officers had to use their personal cell phones to call in, its also so bad that an officer had to get out of his patrol vehicle and reach on top of the roof to mess with the antennas of the vehicle. This is something the department NEEDS, lets make this happen.

Our men and women in uniform put themselves in daily harm each and everyday. They should not need the additional stresses of not knowing if they will be able to contact dispatch should they need additional assistance.

This serious life-safety issue has been known about, and well documented for decades. It's time the city leaders stopped playing politics, and do what it takes to make sure that the single most important need of its fine police officers is taken care of!
