Santa Cruz does will need to eventually fix their homelessness problem but this is the exact way to NOT fix it.

The outright discrimination towards people who are less fortunate to have somewhere to sleep at Bhutto should not be penalized. It is already hard enough and it is feeding a disgusting system. And it is disgusting that our police force fed idea that is a major concern. Police should be helping us not looking at us as potential funds.

The right way to deal with homelessness isn't to outlaw it, it's to provide more help through resource centers and social workers.

This law is not just because homeless people have no where to go.

Crimminalizing minute and benign acts of homeless individuals is a symbolic declaration that not capitaist-cnforming persons have no right to be alive.

The way the homeless are treated in a town with such a large homeless population sickens me. Good job with this petition!

I'm signing because I believe that it's important for us to have a discussion about ordinance 6.36.010. As the community never had a chance to discuss and vote on said ordinance.

I can't believe anyone could want to ban sleeping in public. Sure, it looks bad for the city to have all the benches filled up etc, but we must have compassion for those who are forced to sleep in public, and work towards stopping homelessness by building shelters and homes, not by arresting those in a bad space.

Sleep is a basic human need. Criminalizing this human action is deplorable and morally unconscionable.
