George Taylor current office is an a beautifully restored office building downtown. I'm sure he would be more than happy to work with the Historic Commission to preserve the buildings on Castle Street.

a novel attempt to address a serious problem in our city and across the country that won't cost the city a penny. why not give it a try? No downside and huge upside. who needs another museum? George Taylor has invested a lot of money in this project and is willing to essentially take on the entire risk of pulling this off. it would be a terrible shame not to be able to see if Tru Colors will work in reducing gang violence and bringing opportunity to the community. Castle Street is the absolutely perfect spot for them.

After working at Kids Making It for the last four years (7th & Castle), I fully believe this is exactly what that community needs! The site is located in a deeply inpoverished area where nearby employment opportunities are scarce, gang and drug activity are high, and one that has been plagued by violence for years. TRU Colors could be a pivotal piece in creating some much needed stability and hope to those residents, as well as a revitalizing force for the neighborhood. Their mission aligns perfectly with that area. I understand there may be other parties bidding on that space. I would implore the City to make a decision based on highest and best use rather than the highest bidder. I cannot think of any other organization who could have as much of a positive and lasting impact on that property and the overall community as Tru Colors.

I have been following the Tru Colors initiative since it's inception and it is a wonderful "outside the box" solution to a very serious problem in our city. I know the founder personally and have no doubt that he and his team have the upmost best interests of the entire area in mind. I urge City leaders to do something unique and sell the property to this group (Tru Colors) instead of to some "political cronies". Unlike most developments in Wilmington, this one makes sense !!!!!
