Been traveling the beaufort to Bluffton 278 315 17 corridor route for years. Left for military returned after covid and I have seen the traffic patterns at a standstill both ways at or near rush hour turning a 45-50min trip into nearly 1.5hrs. I believe the growth of all of these “pop up” housing communities have contributed greatly , outgrowing the traffic infrastructure . Poor planning . The 2 lane highways cannot accommodate such volume . The light at 17/315 and widening 17 will assist but the problem lies in the multi mile stretch rt315
traffic .also that rt46/315 traffic circle is a nightmare another common accident heavy area .

We lived in Ridgeland and worked in Westside Savannah for 8 years, traveling this route daily. Today, we live in Savannah but our daughters and grandchildren live in Ridgeland so this is still a normal route. My husband and I stopped for several horrendous accidents over the years. We held our breath through this stretch on many days as we came close to being the ones not making it home that night. Something needs to be done before more lives are ruined.

We drive to Bluffton often and the traffic at Hwy 315 and Hwy 17 to return home to Savannah is just plain dangerous. A stop light at this intersection would help save time and lives.

I use this route daily to travel to work. I have only lived here one-year and half and already been delayed numerous times due to accidents. On a daily basis, I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get to the intersection due to traffic. This intersection is a major stressor of my daily life.

Such a dangerous route from SC 170 to Savannah, especially at night. Wish the four lane widening of SC 170 would continue all the way through this route. Many lives would be saved if there was a wide grass median with two lanes on either side. Thanks for starting this petition.

This intersection is a total nightmare, and in this small town will take forever, which is ridiculous. I personally paid $800 for car tags just this year alone.
