We the undersign affirm that we need immediate action to improve the Jasper County intersection of US Hwy 17 & SC Hwy 315.

We need to expedite the schedule to widen US Hwy 17 and a traffic light is needed since it may take years before any improvements are completed.

Concerned citizens:

I live 5 Miles from the intersection and have traveled this route to Savannah over 40 years and have seen many accidents with Death and Injuries. During rush hours, I have seen on average 60 autos waiting on Hwy 315 to turn left on Hwy 17. At one point the total increased to 170 Autos which would be a 40 min. wait. This is due to travelers working in one state and living in another. Also, the traffic from Savannah is traveling to Hardeeville to travel North on I-95. This is not just a Jasper County problem since most of the traffic is between Beaufort County and Savannah. We are trying to scheduled a meeting with SC. DOT in early Oct. Please help notify everyone to please sign this petition using the below web address.

I use this route daily to travel to work. I have only lived here one-year and half and already been delayed numerous times due to accidents. On a daily basis, I have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get to the intersection due to traffic. This intersection is a major stressor of my daily life.

This intersection is INCREDIBLY dangerous and I cannot believe that it's still just a stop sign in one direction and not a light for all directions- or even a rotary- for safety's sake. Fix it now.

Waited an hour to make a left turn off 315 onto 17 on Sunday after Thanksgiving !! Not having a red light at that dead end is absolutely rediciulous as well as dangerous !

A traffic light is much needed at that intersection. I'll be safer to make a left turn going from Bluffton area to Savannah. I have been stuck in traffic for about 45 minutes in the past,and many times have has been so dangerous making a left turn because the traffic going the other way does not slow down.

This road and especially this intersection needs to be fixed. The county of Jasper should no longer be able to ignore the deaths that keep occurring on it the state of South Carolina needs to step in and fix this before another life is lost.

THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE WORST AND BUSIEST INTERSECTIONS IN THE STATE. WITH THE GROWING PORTS AND NEW COMMUNITIES IT IS GETTING WORSE. THE ROAD IS IN TERRIBLE SHAPE AS WELL.

Been traveling the beaufort to Bluffton 278 315 17 corridor route for years. Left for military returned after covid and I have seen the traffic patterns at a standstill both ways at or near rush hour turning a 45-50min trip into nearly 1.5hrs. I believe the growth of all of these “pop up” housing communities have contributed greatly , outgrowing the traffic infrastructure . Poor planning . The 2 lane highways cannot accommodate such volume . The light at 17/315 and widening 17 will assist but the problem lies in the multi mile stretch rt315 traffic .also that rt46/315 traffic circle is a nightmare another common accident heavy area .
