I particularly like article 3. However, unless neighboring towns adopt the same legislation, there will be nothing to prevent dirt bikes from being refueled in West Haven, East Haven, etc. Nevertheless, this law is a start!

I’d suggest any revenue be added to the police dept budget.

I say have the police seize the bikes/ATVs and send them to doctors, teachers, etc in the Third World who could use them for socially useful purposes. Keep the bikes off the streets and parks of New Haven and have the people who ride them spend more time in the New Haven Free Public Library and become better and more productive citizens of New Haven.

This sounds like good legislature. I hope corporate counsel finds that it is doable and makes the language strong enough. And I am sure residents will support!

Dirt bikes are a significant safety hazard and nuisance in New Haven. This legislation should be only the first step in dealing with this problem.
