Help stop the DCDSB from moving our grade 7-8 Students to High School

I don not agree with the change.

I DO NOT support this change and WILL transfer all 3 my children to public if this change comes into effect. Highschool is no place for an 11/12yr old child!!! Along with the increased drug/alcohol exposure our children will become the targets of harsher bullies and abuse. This age group is far too susceptible to peer pressures and poor decision making for this to be a logical, mentally/physically safe, or beneficial course of action. Absolutely unacceptable!!!!!!!

If the board goes through with this I will definitely be transferring both my children to public school in 2017. Very disappointed with the meeting. The only thing I heard was how this would benefit the board nothing was mentioned about the effects this would have on our children! Parents should have been allowed to voice their concerns not write them down on chart paper.

This is ridiculous that my 11 year old will be going to high school. Also I don't want my two children at different high schools.

I am considering moving my child and taxes to the public school board. At no time during this meeting was there an open two sided discussion.

Transferring from calithic to public will will be our first choice....as opposed to sending our 12 year old to hight school

I do not want my daughter going to high school. I will put her in a public school.

I feel that even though they will be in their own area at the high school they will be integrated with other kids coming from many different back grounds at a much younger age. When we send our kids off for grade 9 the concern of being around sex and drugs is huge...in some cases grade 7 and 8 students are already experimenting with sex and drugs. So brining a bunch of 12&13 year olds into a lottery selection of classes is worrisome. Being so much younger they are influenced much more quickly. This situation is awful.

That is not fair what the catholic boards are trying to do that to the students, that's not right that's cruel

I would definitely switch my daughter over to the public school if this takes place. There is no way a grade 7/8 student is ready for high school.

Would strongly consider moving both my children and tax dollars to the public board.

Switching to the public board where my children can develop in their age-appropriate environment is a viable consideration.

I FULLY SUPPORT the boards decision. The 7/8 will be separated, the secondary schools will be at full capacity. The parents should listen to what the board says and not assume that a grade 7 will be accosted by a grade 9. Close minded fools.

The Board has not thought this through, 7/8 are not ready to go to high school as of yet. More research needs to been in order for this to be a success.
