The Issue

The Issue
I love my country, and it breaks my heart to see its democracy challenged daily by the current administration and those who support it. The actions taken by Donald J. Trump and his administration have eroded the core values upon which our nation was built. It's time to stand up to preserve the integrity and principles that define us as a democracy.

Since January 20, 2025, citizens like you and me have been tirelessly protesting against the damaging policies and rhetoric propagated by this administration. We have witnessed an unprecedented assault on the tenets of democracy - from undermining the voting process to sowing discord among the populace. The moral and ethical fabric of our nation is at stake, and we can no longer afford to be passive observers.

The Trump administration's continuous disregard for democratic norms and institutions threatens to unravel the justice and freedom Americans have cherished for generations. Facts and truth are manipulated to fit narratives that breed division and fear. According to the Pew Research Center, public trust in government is near historic lows, and this administration has only exacerbated this distrust.

It's time for all citizens to take action. We must collectively voice our dissent and call for accountability. We demand that lawmakers prioritize the protection of our democratic institutions and ensure that the rule of law prevails over political interests.

We have protested daily since the inauguration of Trump as President.

April 5, 2025 - "Hands Off!" Protests: Over 1,200 demonstrations were organized in all 50 states by various civil rights, labor, LGBTQ+, and other groups, with an estimated 3-5 million participants.

April 19, 2025 - "No Kings Day" and "Hands Off!" follow-up protests: These continued the "Hands Off!" theme, with over 400 events scheduled nationwide. Organizers stated an estimated 5.2 million people showed up for these protests.

June 14, 2025 - "No Kings" Protests: This was a massive nationwide protest on Trump's birthday, with estimates of 4 to 6 million participants across about 2,100 sites in the U.S., making it potentially the largest protest in U.S. history. The protests were organized by groups like the ACLU, MoveOn, and American Opposition, focusing on Trump's policies and statements perceived as anti-democratic.

However, they have not stopped the dismantling of our democracy.
It is time to call for stronger action.

A regional or general strike with specific goals in mind.

A regional strike is a stoppage of work or a similar labor action. It involves workers in a specific area, such as major cities like LA, Chicago, New York City, Miami, and regional ports.

A regional strike aims to create significant disruption across the affected area, putting pressure on the government to address our concerns, such as stopping ICE abductions, Social Security, the economy, and DEI.

Please join us in this crucial fight to halt the damage done to our beloved democracy. Let us be the change that safeguards our nation's future for generations to come. Sign this petition and make your voice heard. IF you did, please share it with everyone you know.
