The tree is our present history. Children relate to the tree more than they do to the town hall. I hope the committee looks at the plans again and puts in the handicap accessible walk on the other side of the building. Too many trees are cut down for poor reasons. I have supported the Town Hall preservation with my donations. I did not donate funds to be spent on cutting down our WL tree. The WL tree is a living land mark that everyone relates to in our area as well all whom have moved away. Destroying the tree destroys future memories for all of us as we have come accustom to enjoying at Christmas time as well as on a hot day in summer as it shares it's shade. Linda Sparks

Save them both! The tree and the town hall should both be preserved unless the tree as it is endangers the historic town hall.

Wouldn't it just be easier to put up a couple signs directing people to the public restrooms instead of cutting down a staple of west liberty? I really cant understand why anyone would even consider doing this and if it happens I will not buy anything ever again from down town WL and I will encourage others to do the same.

Please don't cut the tree down! It is a tradition to light the tree for the Christmas season! People who pass through our beautiful town enjoy seeing the beautiful tree year round!

I feel the tree is a landmark and should not come down. It is not dead I stood under it and looked the tree on the other side of the building has more dead in it. If people need a restroom they will find it without a big sign.

Such a proud majestic tree, when I first moved here almost 40 years ago it was the first thing I saw.
