Please keep TREC running as they provide an invaluable service especially to those who are vunerable and in need of support whatever their background/circumstance.I personally have recommended its services to a number of vunerable induviduals who have very little faith left in the system.These individuals come from a very diverse community (As we are!-Here in Leicester).I have been contacted in return and thanked by most of the service users,and noticed the change in tone; i.e A more positive attitude and outlook in life in general.I urge you to keep this service running as it benafits society as a whole. Equality should be an overarching theme for all activities of the Council. Reducing the funding of a voluntary sector organisation that promotes and defends equality makes no sense to me.

Fantastic work in our 'supposed' true multicultural city. How can they even think of pulling funding when the only people it will effect are the most vunerable?

This service to communities has to be upheld as ordinary people will not be able to receive quality support on complex issues.

TREC provides an invaluable service to local communities, especially newer communitie and a range of services not provided by other agencies.

I cannot understand why an inclusive umbrella body like TREC should be marginalised in favour of community-specific, 'nationalist' groups which by definition are less committed to principles of social cohesion (does this for example include English Nationalists?): there may be a case for some services to be delivered via 'national' or more properly, ethnic, religious or language specific associations, but there also needs to be a place where they merge - TREC!

the people that work here are selfless and give there undivided attention and help to those that need it, it isn't just another business doing the least they can for an easy wage

TREC is aTREC is multicultural body in a multicultural city. It brings in and involves volunteers from all communities. To lose those volunteers and to receive input from sectarian groups only will do irreparable damage to Leicester.

Enough is enough with the cuts. There are extremely vunerable people who will have no where else to turn. The workers there do an amazing job helping those in crisis find work. A bit ironic, closing a centre who help the most vulnerable find work and putting employees out of work.

The Race Equality Centre is the only organisation in the city that offers their expertise and knowledge to provide direct support to help people from all communities address problems of racial discrimination.
