My dad( Frank Persyn) is a farmer and landowner of a 365 acre farm that my family has owned, worked and grew up on since 1978. Recently a few Bexar County judges decided to build an unnecessary highway to go right in the middle of our land without our consent. Because of Eminent Domain and the 5th amendment it's supposedly "okay" to take a familie's land without their consent as long as it is for the public good. This is how my dad makes his living and this is where we have grown up all of our life. Personally, I don't believe it is just for the government to take private land to build an extra road that nobody needs. The percentage of farmland has decreased by more than 50% since the 1940s and is still in a sharp decline. Why should a whole person's life be sacrificed simply to build another McDonald's that nobody needs or in this case another road that would take off only two minutes from someone's normal commute. Although the chances of preventing this injustice from occurring is unlikely,I would love to have everyone's support and feedback on this issue.
