GOD-willing, the very best, comprehensive, and enforceable animal welfare laws and regulations shall very soon become prevalent throughout the world.

Rooks are an important part of nature. Their presence isn’t obtrusive to wildlife, only to the farmers who have other, non-violent ways to keep them away from their crops anyway. Hurting these beautiful creatures is strictly punishable by law in my country, and I think it should be the same in every civilized country.

If we do not take care of such birds, you will not only have an ecological issue of losing an important species, in the way opportune feeding and despising of carrion, you will also be increasing the desanitation of the area. No good comes to areas where there are a lack of Corvids.

I am a fierce advocate for native birds but in saying that many introduced birds have knitted well into the native fabric of Aotearoa. They should be ignored rather than exterminated.
