Removing the dam will destroy the river for all who use it in the Lexington area

My kids and I LOVE walking around at Jordan's Point looking at the water. We go tubing down the river making our stopping point a little ways above the dam with friends every Summer. There is an awesome rock water fall a little ways up the river. I've fished here with my kids, and the view below as you walk the Chessie Trail brings enjoyment to your walk. I believe it's full of pleasant experiences for so many people. Making memories and enjoying natural.

I have lived there all my life. Don't understand why $ should BD didn't to dESTROY a landmark. The dam dies not hurt but does help with wildlife, nature, scenery , and sporting the river. Keep the dam.

The "after" photo pictured here is from the White Salmon River in Washington state, which had a 125 ft tall dam (much larger than the one at JP) that held back a huge reservoir. This is not a fair picture to post for comparison.

I have lived in Lexington my entire life, that dam has been there, it not only serves to hold the river, and keep it full but is a land mark that beautifies the area above it. To demolish it would be a a very ignorant thing to do just because of a few people's stupid beliefs!

Please don't take the dam down. I fish regularly and canoe with my family. It would ruin our summers and force us to travel away from the area and spend our money elsewhere.

Leave it as it is. The river has a lot to offer like canoeing, kayaking or just floating down . Alit of people enjoy swimming at JP. There is nothing much for the younger generation to do in the summer as it is. Don't take that away.
