In days of austerity when everyone is struggling to make ends meet, it seems some what ridiculous to penalise a sector that is already struggling, by hiking prices and driving them to berths further from home! Surely this is counter productive for the harbour, yet again a perfect example of people with no idea of an industry trying to control it and ultimately systematically destroying it.....

I was born and brought up in Dunbar and it is and always was a fishing town. Self important people on the Harbour Trust must not be allowed to change that. The fishermen were always happy to allow the yacht owners to share their facility but it seems that is not reciprocal. This shift of control over the running of the harbour must be righted before the fishing fleet is lost forever.

Dunbar needs the fishing boats, jobs need to be kept, we live in a hard enough world, wages don't go up, not should rents and rates

Dunbar is a historic fishing port, which has long provided jobs for many local people. When the fleet was stronger, there were many micro-businesses supporting it, which also provided local work. At a time when so many are facing hardship, and when jobs are so scarce, and when the Dunbar fleet was beginning to make a tentative recovery, we should be doing all we can to support the rebuilding of the fishing fleet. The last thing we should be doing is destroying this fundamental part of Dunbar's identity. DHT needs to live up to its mission statement, in this regard: 'The Trust remains primarily committed to the continuing development of sustainable in-shore fishing, and the further expansion of the Dunbar Fishing Fleet.'

one of the hardest jobs on the planet for little or no profit at times,these men have scraped through some really hard times and still struggle on to support their families.it is their right to work and should be allowed to do so without the red tape brigade interfering

Majority of my family r fisherman and I think it's disgusting the money the Harbour Trust are asking for. Do these people not realise how hard it is to make a living from fishing? No!!! I bet half if not all the Harbour Trust have never even been at sea. Remember Dunbar is a FISHING town always has been and always will be!!!!!
