Our churches are important to the whole of the community, one chuch would not be enough to serve everybody, with more housing being planned. Also with plans to move the Beacon Church out of the Meridian Centre, someone may need to take up the work they do.

St Francis church for me is a family orientated church. It has held many a family occasion, marriage, christening or most recently a funeral of a weekly church attendant! St Francis church is a community based church in Leigh park and has been for many, many years. Please don't break a tradition of a lifetime and a place that is close to many a regulars hearts!!!

Church has money why make redundant 2 lovely community spirited people that always have time to help.
Where will the elderly or disabled go to church now this is insane.
Is church planning to sale of all the property eg vicarage & churches to put more money in the big chiefs pockets.
Church is the one place you could go without judgement & feel you belong somewhere & it is these VICARS that make that happen

Having a familiar vicar around in a local area is really important for the children and the local people, they are trusted people and give a lot to the community. Going to schools for every occasion that we celebrate and talk about what it’s all about and everyone knows who they are especially Father Jonathon, that’s a massive part of most of Leigh Parks life! Definitely need to keep Father Johnathon and St Francis church been going for so many years.

My husband & I married at this church 31 years ago.Our 2 children were christened there as was our grandson. We have attended many other weddings & christenings with either family or friends & have attended functions in the adjoining hall including our own wedding reception. My mother in law attended this church every week until her unfortunate passing earlier this year & also her mother too attended regularly. This church will be a great loss to the community as will the vicar (father Jonathan) who has been a great comfort not only to our family but many more besides I'm sure.To whomever makes these decisions rash or otherwise I would like to think a major rethink is needed x

Father Jeffrey is one if the most proactive vicars I know and helps to keep the community together. He has many roles within that community this is no way to thank him for his contributions. The residents of Leigh Park will be left to flounder alone without him.

I imagine the parishioners understand that the churches' dynamics have changed over the years but their numbers will never grow again without clergy. Jonathan and his family have been at the heart of this community for many years; not just in Church but working with other agencies as a representative of the Diocese and of the people of Leigh Park and Warren Park to improve and create opportunities for all. To treat someone that has done so much good for the Deanery, Diocese and community in this manner is short sighted, dismissive and disgraceful. Shame on you Church of England!
