Surely the opinions of the members, the former members and the consumers should outweigh the opinions and actions of a CLEARY clueless body.

Holding a by-election is ridiculous. Offer it to the runner-up from last years election, or no-one at all. The VP of Media and Marketing is a role that, unless done well, is completely redundant anyway and shouldn't be voted for by the whole student body. It's niche, it's experience based and it's not going to get the right candidate in a by-election any more than it does in the popularity contest that is the student election process.
