Help save Camp Strake, the last remaining natural oasis in the region.

Leave Camp Strake as a nature reserve. We do not need more industrialization/privatization/commercialization of this area. Water is being siphoned from Lake Conroe to meet the needs of a future population that it can not sustain. I respectfully ask that this land be left to the wildlife. Please do not encourage more urban sprawl.

Camp Strake is an important part of Texas history. So many Boy Scouts have gone on their first camping trips there and it should remain as for generations to come.

Camp Strake and it's 2,100 acres of abundant wildlife, wetlands, and natural lakes, should be designated a Nature Preserve.

I went to camp Strake as a kid with Boy Scouts and have fond memories. Please spare this area from development so my children can enjoy this increasingly rare thing called nature. Thank you.

Remeber camping their as boy growing up in the area.Had many good times there.Also the wildlife there has no place go but on the highway or some roadway to be killed or hurt or somebody getting hurt or killed.Think about the whole outcome.Hope everyone envolved make the right deciisions. There are very few natural lakes in Texas. It would be a shame to destroy this property and uproot more wildlife.

there is said to be paleo (over 8000 yrs old) Indian artifacts in and around that entire area which shows the history of the area let alone all the wildlife that are being pushed out of their natural habitats. Please save some of the last remaining wilderness areas in Conroe and leave nature to run its course.

Keep this land the way it is I was there as a boy scout and it is a great place for future kids to learn about nature. If you want to destroy something do it in your own back yard. Not the camp.

There is no reason to develop this area. With Houston expanding daily and thousands of trees and acres consumed by humans each year, preserving green spaces such as Camp Strake is of vital importance to the environment. Revitalize the Conroe Outlet mall, don't take away something we can never bring back.

When Mr. Strake donated this to the Boy Scouts, I'm sure he never envisioned it being sold to build commercial buildings. I think it is very sad that the Boy Scouts felt pressured to do so. It saddens me to see nature being destroyed time and time again for a building when we have so many empty buildings all over. Paved Paradise to put up a parking lot....
