I used to live on howe st. I care a lot about the area. Destroying the area's character is short sighted on the part of developers

We need to come up with better solutions other than tearing everything down. I noticed a number of Catholic churches in Waterbury have been demolished or partially dismantled. For what? One church torn down in 2018 is now a parking lot. Lots of family members lived in Waterbury and this is discouraging. So, let's more carefully consider the historic value of these buildings and see what we can do to either save them or at least adopt to modern use.

More can be done to keep these landmarks, preserve the historic atmosphere of the neighborhood, and consider other ways for modern development.

What are Historic Districts for if not retaining buildings? I am an architect and had friends living at 97-99 Howe until 2017.

We should work to preserve our architectural history. Too much has been lost already in favor of modern development. If the homes are sound, they should be preserved.

I am an architect and lived at 97-99 Howe Street during school. No reason this contributing SHPO property should not be saved; it helps form the character of our city. Once it's gone, we'll never get it back.

Demolition through neglect is not okay. These historic buildings are within a historic district, and should be protected.
