due to government changes the disability living allowance has been changed to personal independence allowance P.I.P as a disabled person and being on the highest award for mobility and care for the last 9 years after a new assessment I have been awarded the standard care and mobility in 2007 I was misdiagnosed by my family doctor twice with sinusitis after having 2 weeks of the worst headaches in actual fact I was having a brain aneurysm a bleed on my brain ! this resulted in me collapsing and having a left side stroke, luckily I survived after 3 months of intensive physio and rehab my last goal was to drive again which I did 4 years ago we all take things for granted but this totally devastated my life and changed me as a person and also my children being on the highest award meant I was eligible for the motability scheme and was able to afford to run a car and give me my independence back, since my reassessment I hve been told I will lose my car I feel that not only the nhs has let me down so has the government, I will lose my right as a disabled person to get out and about and not lose the little dignity I gained back, we deserve to be reassessed and to be seen by proper assessors who have the insight to see what this sort of illness does to people and I urge the right to have the law changed I cannot walk far or for very long without a stick and I struggle with everything that a woman of my age takes for granted
