It was struggling before that, they had Resync/FutureYou they had to shut down due to lack of funding etc after a lot of expenditure. They branched out a lot, people mention Beatbullying and Mindfull but the BBG had a lot more projects going on including things like We Are Cosmo, Family Services, Cancer Care, Teach Me To, think there were more. But all of them were launch fairly recently compared to Cybermentors and MiniMentors. Everyone is talking about just two parts of a major company... Mini Mentors is just as valid as Mindfull and Beatbullying and just as needed as it tackles the problem at a younger age preventing it happening as we get older... As for you saying that Mindfull was expanding too soon initially the site was meant to go up to 25 as that is where outside services were lacking for the age group up to 25 the amount of people who fall through the net at 18 as CAMHs is withdrawn and the transfer process is either very sloppy, drawn out or non existent is unbelievable. It was put down to a smaller age group as they couldn't secure funding, and they may have found funding for that age group( certain funding has to be spent on certain things) if they got a grant for 18-25s they couldn't use it to get out of debt they would have to expand or add a new website. Same with the expansion to other countries yeah it was a massive leap but I am guessing each country had some sort of funding behind it from their own country if not then quite frankly BBG are idiots. For me seeing BB expand into other areas is when it started to go down hill, when it just had the focus on Bullying which is what they were good at there finances were stable since taking on more areas they haven't been. Yeah they do a great job but in my honest opinion they should have let another charity open up a MH website or a job website etc so then if they didn't work out the support many people find valuable in bullying wouldn't have been liable but that is just my opinion. Yes! This site means the world to me! It saved me so many times! I lost all my hope :( :'( This site was a critical survival point for many children and young people! It's UNACCEPTABLE to leave all those HIGHLY VULNERABLE children at stake in such horrible manner! They weren't even told a word about it! I just feel like dying! This is absolutely devastating, and I just don't know what to do anymore :'(

The BB Group (behind MindFull and BeatBullying) has been on a steady decline in recent years. Controversies ranging from redundancies, casual quips about mental health issues, staff bullying their immediate juniors and staff not being paid have all been rife. While BeatBullying is a charity that has provided loads of help to people, it's also a charity that has mismanaged money, mismanaged staff and is massively hated in ex-staff circles. One of the worst charities to work for. I wouldn't give them your money if I were you - you don't know what they're doing with it.

I agree with you .. with the money front to be honest, They just tried to work too hard and get so much done in short space off time like mindfull opened up summer 2013, then early this year 2014 Beatbullying site opend up chatroom for different countries then were working on opening mindfull(which is ONLYover a year old) to 18-25... it was too much, to be honest though someone should off seen it like when people are talking about it, i'm only 17 and i could work out that the sites were gonna go down because of money. Need someone who gonna be able to work out money better DONT close the site down... GET someone better who can work out money and do a good job!! look after childline and other sites been open for years and years because had a good leader and someone who good with money management, you need someone like that in BB and MF. People should give money to them because to behonesst beatbullying anf mindfull are AMAZING they helped so much, i bet you anything that you keep it down any longer, gonna be alot more people dying................So many kids live off that site its unreal you take the only support they could get? whats that gonna look like..... no one gonna be able to have the right they deserve and need!!!

I'm not being funny dudes yeah but if you want to write about something how about writing about how much beatbullying and mindfull actually does for young people , how about writing about how many life's they save a day or how many people they support a day , yeah fair enough they may well have been stupid with money but everyone dezerves a second chance , beatbullying ain't just a site , it ain't just any old site either , it's a community , a strong one at that that comes together when it matters to fight for what we belive is right , a community that doesn't judge and where you can be your self an you don't have to hide who you are . When you don't feel you have anywhere left to run beatbullying are ALWAYS there so why should we have that taken away from us ? Shutting the site down will just mean more young people will commit suicide because they won't have a decent enough place to turn to , where people actually care about how you feel ect . Fair wnought childline and Samaritans are excellent sites , people there probley do care as well but they ain't beatbullying . We built this community and now we're fighting for it so if you really want to stick something in your new paper stick that In it ! #savebeatbullying!

I myself is a mentor on the site i have gone through a difficult time and sometimes i still do and when im on there in chat it helps to take your mind off things and every one is so positive even if i as a mentor needs to chat i have people there i have jad feedback off the young people i have helped and one of the messages i had on there was: NAI YOUR AN AMAZING MENTOR AND NEVER FORGET IT IF IT WASNT FOR YOU THEN I WOULDNT BE HERE TODAY THE FIRST TIME WE TALKED I WAS GOING TO END EVERYTHING BUT YOU CHANGED THAT BY JUST BEING SO NICE AND CHATTING TO ME I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU. I think this goes to show what can happen for other people and we have gone global think of those people who are now suffering thinking there is no support for them now and maybe they dont want to chat to someone new! This has made me very upset as i myself feel lost without it and yeah maybe they misuse the money but dont we all make mistakes its learning from those mistakes! People wont understand if you have never felt this way before its made me very angry that we havent heard anything about whats happening or is going to happen. I am a member on there myself and to be honest if it had not been for them i would not be here now. They save so many lives and give you a space where if you need to talk you can. It helped me to develop my personality and open up about how i was feeling. It was the only sites i was allowed to use because my Dr said that i was not allowed to use any other support sites. But now temporarily its gone. I have no where to go. BeatBullying and MindFull mean so much too me and at the end of the day we all make mistakes. Its human nature to. And we all accept that we make mistakes and just because its been made once with the money does not mean that it can't be recovered from. We all need to stand together and band together as one of my amazing friends who was a moderator on there once said to me. Please if its only one thing you do today sign this petition. We need BB and MF because it saves lives and i am one of those. Please just sign you may be one person but you are one person who is making a huge difference in many childrens lives by signing it. None of us and i mean none of us will ever stop fighting to get both sites back up and even if that means us raising awareness verbally i am fairly sure we all will. Lets band together take and stand and SAVE BB and MF! Please sign!

I've been part of the bbgroup for 6 years now and I've seen it have both ups and downs. The sites are a life line for young people and we need them. I've been to the office on placement, I still talk to the media to this day about bb and mf and how they help young people. We need these sites we have to do everything we can to save them. They help us so we need to help them!

We're trying to do a good thing here , and all you pissed off EX staff members can do is slate the name of the site what's up mad because you got laied off ? Saving bb ain't about the staff it's about the people that use it the people that it's a life line for . So whatever bad things you've got to say keep em to your selfs cause we ain't intrested in anything but positivity at this moment in time ! Don't you think we are all low enough with bb not being here to support us without you ''grown adults'' bitching and moaning ?

I wish Asher was wrong, but unfortunately he's not. The treatment of staff in that place is just shocking. It may be hard to hear, but as a volunteer, you wouldn't have seen that, Adam. No one is denying the charity helped a lot of young people, but unfortunately in the wrong hands, things with huge potential do break down.

if staff are expressing feelings of being bullied then I think that needs to be addressed. Whilst you might value the service. The people that deliver that service also need to have their voice heard.

I have had contact with the charity on and off for many years, I was with cyber mentors from the start, before it became beatbullying. I must admit I wouldn't be here without it, however I will also admit it can be detrimental it enables young people to rely on online services and not seek out help until in absolute crisis point where you can end up with emergency services at your door and a lot of explaining to do. It also allowed people to be online more time than is healthy. It is a great resource and I would hate to see it go but there certainly did need to be better management the majority of the time there were more staff and mentors than users all of them took training ie money and they at times were the only ones on line. As much as it was great to see people wanting to learn about bullying to become a mentor they weren't making enough money for the number of sessions they put on and the number of mentors trained. It is a shame after all the high profile of the last few years to see it go down like this and I feel for the young people. However there are still mentors at many schools which is a lasting legacy if BB doesn't survive. We can still utilise what we have learnt from the years of the site and the even more years of the charity. I have seen a lot of charities recently either merging being took over or going down all who do good work and save lives. It is hard, but still. Also you may be mad that ex staff members are apparently slating the site, but surely some users know that public don't see what happens behind closed doors. It might be the case that it was a horrific place to work and people should not be silenced about what they have been through. The site was all about breaking silence whether you opened up about abuse bullying being gay or whatever and now you are silencing other people ironic or what? You need all perspectives on a business not just a customers to know whether it should be saved just saying.

May I make a very small suggestion? I think two things have come out of the discussion thread, both of which are very, very true: 1. BeatBullying and MindFull were great communities and important resources, which helped many, many people through difficult times. 2. The BB Group drove the sites to financial ruin, bullied its own staff, and cut off the sites without telling anyone. These were all despicable things to do, and prove that they can't be trusted to run the sites. I think we can all absolutely agree that the sites should have a future. But that future should be with a different charity that is capable of handling money, treating staff with the decency and respect that they need, and providing users with the safety and security that they deserve. And that absolutely could happen! So, with that in mind: Could the hashtag be #savebeatbullying, or #savebbandmindfull, and not #savethebbgroup? Let's support the services (and whoever wants to step in and take them over) - not the parent organisation that let everyone down.

Supporting exactly what the two above said. We're not trying to slate the sites - the sites were/are amazing and I truly believed in them, I was a mentor on there long after I finished working in the offices but the situation as it stands? BB Group are not capable of upholding the sites as this situation proves. They didn't warn any of you the sites wouldn't be there tomorrow, or their remote staff such as the counsellors or moderators. That is not okay. It has left many young people vulnerable and that is of the highest concern and it's the highest priority to make sure those young people know where else they can go. I'm not for a second debating that however.... What happened in the office is relevant also. How can you run an anti bullying charity if you don't fully believe in it? If you're bullying your staff members and neglecting their wellbeing, then clearly something is wrong. You're not following your mission statement on your own ground. I hope that BB and MF keep going in some form. You talk about us "grown adults" but the fact is, there were a lot of fairly young people working at the offices who were fairly vulnerable themselves. I was 21 when I started work there - I would have been within MF's remit when it got extended and you know what? I probably would have gone there for support (if it wasn't for the fact that I worked there and therefore would be unethical as I knew the counsellors!). The counsellors were amazing, the moderators were amazing and a lot of the office staff are among the best people I've ever met, never mind worked with, but unfortunately the management higher up has a massive impact on what goes on, and that was were the problem was. This isn't fair, none of this is fair and I wouldn't say anything negative about petitioning to get it back, to show how much you care and how much this service is needed because I know it's needed, but with regards to donating money I would be very wary because you really don't know where it's goin

Unfortunately staff were treated very badly and it was very detrimental my own wellbeing but it does not change that fact that it is an awesome service and I really hope for your sakes it can be saved somehow.
