This is petition to help promote recycling and the reduction of non-recyclable waste for our citizenship GCSE coursework. This will go towards 60% of our overall grade, and we'd like as many people to support us as possible. We chose this issue because we all believe that it's a big issue and that something needs to be done about it. During our research and preparation for this, we found out that over 30.5 million tons of waste is produced in UK each year, but only 20% of that is recycled. And if you sign this, you'd be helping us to try and raise the percentage of wast recycled. If this petition gets enough signatures, we will give a copy to our local council and hopefully persuade them to take action in our community. We hope that they will give us more opportunities and resources to recycle, not just throw our waste away.
