The budget committee officially greenlit the repairs for our building. I am drained from the months of fighting for these fixes but the result makes it all worth the effort. Let's keep watching to ensure the work starts exactly as they promised.

We, the parents/guardians and supporters of PS 130, petition the District 15 Community Education Council (CEC) to include PS 130’s need for exterior brick repointing and leak abatement when recommending capital improvement projects for District 15 to the School Construction Authority (SCA).

PS 130’s capital improvement needs were not part of the last SCA five-year plan for District 15 nor are they part of the current plan. The integrity of PS 130’s exterior has been so compromised and water permeation so advanced that multiple classroom walls have deteriorated badly enough to expose brick. Water leaks into classrooms, hallways, and other student areas creating hazardous and unsafe conditions for our children.

We respectfully call upon the District 15 CEC to fully support PS 130’s capital improvement request during the current SCA capital budget cycle. PS 130 needs remediation now!

Reaching this level of visibility proves that the neglect of our school building is finally becoming too loud to ignore. It is exhausting to see the walls continue to crumble while we wait for action, but your response confirms that we are not fighting this battle alone.

Deteriorating building structure is a health hazard for everyone at the school. Please keep in mind asthma suffers like my son. For him and other asthmatics the danger from mold and debris is acute and extreme. Please consider this request.

We live in the district and are tired of hearing that everyone wants their kids in park slope. schools like ps 130 have parents who really want to help the school thrive... but without the right infrastructure, things don't go forward and people don't invest. capital spending on this school would have an exponential impact on parents around the prospect park and beyond...

Not asking for the Taj Mahal, just a decent safe school building for our children. The teachers work hard and take pride in their work. They ask the same of the students. Should we expect less of the City?

The children need to have a decent roof over their heads! Surely, it will save the district money to make roof repairs now, before the water damage, from leaks, undermines the structure further. A well cared for school sends a message to the children, teachers and families of the community, that they are valued.

My family member attends your school. Health and safety comes first in any education services. Thank you for taking care of this very important situation.
