It is such an awsome place to go. I live in Fort St John. I make a point in attending the Hudson Hope Farmers Market every year. I work in area so like to shop there also.

What are the solar panels for? Seems to be ridiculous considering where we live.

As a tourist from nearby Chetwynd who brings her grandchildren for a swim, lunch and the farmers market I would hope so. What I spend in your community is much more than the electricity bill.

I totally believe the music and activities encourage people to come support others. I enjoyed the music and relaxing atmosphere yesterday and am sure the spirits of all who attended were lifted. A small price for the district to pay. Thank you district.

Not only should the District wave the "enormous" electrical bill but they should upgrade the electrical system in beautiful park to make it even more useful for events.

This shouldn’t be an issue.... Let them use the power for goodness sakes. It is a community event.

There are some things that you shouldn't put price tags on and this is one of them.

Keeping the community spirit alive is integral to keeping tiny towns like HH alive!
If the District opens the door of charging the Farmers Market for various utilities, then vendors will most probably think twice about setting up, which will in turn have the knock-on affect of less patronage.
As a vendor, I see friends, neighbours and families, young and old, use the Farmers Market as a weekly meeting point to catch up and make connections. Tourists get to chat with locals and find out what is so special about this little place, and they often take pause from their travels to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
The District seems to be viewing the Farmers Market the wrong way. Rather than something that is taking $20 away from their pocket, it should rather be seen as something that is giving so much TO the community. Again, to have something like this in such a small community is precious and should be encouraged to grow, not the other way around.

Why not? Our little town needs to stand out and have something to offer in the way of entertainment. Music enriches our cultural atmosphere and encourages community.
Just donate a little to these hard working folks.
