The District reached out to confirm that they will continue to provide electricity for our market at no cost. This outcome ensures that we can keep our focus on supporting our local vendors rather than managing utility fees. I am grateful to everyone who helped bring this conversation to a …

The Hudson’s Hope Farmers’ Market is a 100% volunteer run collective that does not charge vendor fees. By allowing vendors to join our market for FREE we are able to help support and encourage the small businesses and young entrepreneurs of our community!

As a volunteer-run group with no income, we rely on the generosity of the District of Hudson’s Hope to allow us to utilize Beattie Park for our Markets, which draw many patrons from neighboring communities.

HERE’S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP:

Until this year, the District has allowed the Market Vendors to use municipal electricity in the park to offer free music to the wonderful people of Hudson’s Hope. This year, the district has decided to start charging the Farmers’ Market for electricity. Our annual usage last year was approximately less than $20.

If you think the District of Hudson’s Hope should donate the Farmers’ Market’s use of municipal electricity, please sign this petition.

Thank you for your support!

As a tourist from nearby Chetwynd who brings her grandchildren for a swim, lunch and the farmers market I would hope so. What I spend in your community is much more than the electricity bill.

I totally believe the music and activities encourage people to come support others. I enjoyed the music and relaxing atmosphere yesterday and am sure the spirits of all who attended were lifted. A small price for the district to pay. Thank you district.

Every time we have come to this market we have had lunch and often fueled up in Hudson’s Hope, so helping the economy in a small way.

I live at Moberly Lake and come to the Hudson Hope Farmers Market when I can. Great products and great community spirit! I feel that the District needs to continue to promote this viable asset with this mere $20.00 that brings so much more to the community.

Why does council always have to make it so difficult for volunteers to put things on in this community? We should be celebrating the success of the Farmers Market- not punishing them.
