My 91 year old father lives in an assisted living facility in MA. We are now permitted to visit my dad outside while wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. These visits are key to my dad’s mental health as we have seen the negative effect months of isolation from family have done to his health. Please reconsider your policy in NY.

The elderly must be allowed to visit with family particularly now during these unprecedented times. There is absolutely no reason this cannot be done safely. Wake up NY leadership and figure it out!

I applaud all Governor Cuomo ‘s efforts, but believe this needs to be adjusted.

It is in the best interest of the elderly to allow them to see family. Isolation and loneliness will hurt this special population. People need people to survive. This is cruel treatment and adjustments can be made to protect patients let allow lived ones to visit.

My father in law was in Glendale after covid began. He was on the third floor and mentally fine. Prior to becoming a resident he lived at Coburg Village and visited my mother in law all day every day
for several years also at Glendale She is on the first floor suffering from dementia.
They were not allowed to see each other
only 2 floors apart. He passed away in June . Covid? I don't think so. The family hasn't been able to see their mom though
all of this. They are very close.
This is horrible and heartbreaking.

Let's let families be together and Thomas Greene and others to have the joy of seeing their family, in person. We support you in this effort!

Elder people would rather die from COVID than die from lonliness. Keeping families apart kills all of them. Numbers in NY are good-open up the nursing homes while strictly enforcing proper PPE usage.

My mom passed in a nursing home one year ago this past June. I am grateful that she didn’t have to live through this pandemic and be deprived of the love of family in her final months of life. My heart breaks for the residents of nursing facilities and their families. I am confident that you can find a way to allow for safe visitation of 1 family member.
