We the undersigned residents of Oceanside support our sanitation workers and want them to be paid a living wage before the District spends any money on a new garage. Our sanitation workers should be our priority, not spending on unnecessary construction totaling $1,200,000.00 (1.2 million dollars).

I stand behind our workers. Just today I made sure to go out and give them some water, and they were so grateful. Have some decency. Maybe if you followed through with your promises to give them fair wages, all other projects would not be questioned.
We are 100% behind the workers! They deserve a raise. I worked in Sanitation for over 25 years and I know exactly how they feel. It's one of the hardest jobs to do, and physically and mentally exhausting. It wears on your body. Our whole family and our friends here in Oceanside support you guys.
After all these guys went through after Sandy, how is it even a question of whether or not they deserve higher wages. These workers livelihood is more important than fixing some cement.
This back garage is completly unnecessary. Now that the workers are supposed to get raises, they decide it's time to build a new one? Give it a break and pay the workers that actually do the work and clean up Oceanside!
Wasn't that the whole point in all these new commissioners, to have the workers backs? I know that's why I voted in the election, to help out the guys who pick up my garbage every day. They always do such a great job, are always kind and even make sure to wave hello to my children, no matter what. That's just not right.
It's despicable to have blatant nepotism unchecked.
You guys should be ashamed of yourselves !!! Pay this men the proper salary!!

How can you promise something and then take it away. These are family men. They have homes to pay for, children to raise and feed. Bills to pay, debt to pay off. I'd love for one of you to look in the eye of one of their children and say that their daddy isn't going to get a raise because we have to fix a garage. Guaranteed you wouldn't be able to do it.
