Hello, my name is Karla. This picture is of my little boy, Isaac Lee, at the age of 1 month. He is now about 3 months old. We are a every good and loving family trying to live the healthy vegan life, and hence our request for your help. As a new vegan family we sincerely believed that we where feeding our baby the very best possible diet. Unfortunately, we lacked the experience and knowledge necessary to successfully do so, as we discovered when he began to loose weight. At that point, we took steps to correct his diet. At the same time Child Protective Services (CPS) stepped in and suggested we get him to the doctor. We called the doctor in the presence of CPS. We were told the earliest he could be seen was the next day at 1:30 p.m. When CPS heard that, they took control of the situation and was able to get an appointment for him to be seen within the next 2 hours. At the doctors, we were advised to take Isaac straight to the hospital. Shocked at this statement and extremely worried we immediately went to the hospital where Isaac was admitted through the emergency room. I was finally allowed to feed him while he was being settled into his room 6 hours after his last feeding!! This for an under weight infant accustomed to eating every 2 hours. The CPS workers called me away from his bedside. They told me that my baby Isaac was now a ward of the state. I was asking to see my baby so we could say goodbye as the CPS workers where walking out. My husband and I were only allowed to view him through the window of his room. After about 15 mins. of crying, we turned to leave and discovered we had uniformed security guards escorting us out. Now his daddy, his big sister and me are trying to get at least 100 signatures so that we can get him back before the expected date of November 18th 2013. Please help our family be reunited.
