Hello Everyone, I would really appreciate if everyone could please sign this Petition to help me and our Community by having the Townsville Council put more lighting in all the parks and all the footpath areas to help us be able to see better and hoping to prevent less crime happening in Kalynda Chase, Bohle Plains, Qld 4817. I am hoping for at least 200 signatures, even if you do not live in the Estate. If you too are having issues with crime in your area, please make a Petition and have everyone sign it. The more the better.
I am a local of Kalynda Chase. The street lighting especially in the parks and footpaths beside homes has no lighting what so ever. The main street and other streets have street lights, but none where it is also important for all the residence here. When someone is walking down the footpath at night and hurt themselves e.g. tripping over a fallen branch or being bitten by a King Brown, which I have seen on the footpath late afternoon right beside my home, who is going to be responsible? Every OH&S liabilities have a "Duty of Care" and the council has failed this one rule.
There is groups of criminals who can hide and watch certain homes in the estate without the residence even knowing, as from your home you can not see out on the footpaths or in the parks but they can see straight into your homes and yards. They are also tagging/marking homes that they have bad intentions of doing crime to. I live right beside a footpath which is totally dark at night. I have had intruders jump the council fence connected to my property and have been physically attacked and have had criminals try to break in and enter my home on more than a couple of occasions since I have lived in Kalynda Chase now being my 5th year.
Many homes/stolen cars/personal items & people have been victims of crime here in the Estate. I am a disabled lady who has two teenage boys living with me and my partner works away one week out of a fortnight and I certainly do not feel safe when he is away, actually I do not feel safe in my own home at all, especially with the high crime rate in our Estate which seems to just be getting higher and higher. Please help me and the Community of Kalynda Chase have more lights put in and hopefully will help bring down the crime in our Estate.

I would be very pleased to see more of our estate lit up as I walk regularly at night or before dawn in the early morning and have to stick on the main parade due to insufficiency lighting throughout our parkways.
I have lived in the estate for 6 years. In the last 12 months I have become scared to live in the estate and Townsville as a whole as we have a young family and my husband works away. It's sad to see the crime increase in our community and nothing seems to get done.
I live in bohle plains and strongly agree. There are many bushy park areas which criminals hide in and can evade the police. I also strongly believe that there should be security cameras installed in the estate to help monitor incoming and outgoing cars and help jeep ontop of the insane crime rate especially in this estate.
Yes have just moved into the area and noticed its very dark in some places more lighting is definitely needed
I have lived at Kalynda for 7yrs and I have signed this petition, but I am going to disagree that Kalynda Chase has a high crime rate. If you get the police lists daily, Bohle Plains is rarely on that list. I'm not saying that Kalynda hasn't had any break ins, car thefts, because it has, we are not immune to crime, but I'd hardly call it a "high crime" area. Just my opinion
Please upgrade lighting for our families security

We defiantly need more light as people want to exercise when it cooler here so early morning and late evening and we want to fell safe and we need to stop people having the oppurnity to sit in the shadows break in to hard working people's houses . They can get away as we they can just slip into the darkness .
