The district finally agreed to implement mandatory mental health training and support services. We did it. Now we watch to ensure they follow through.

Final supporters
Throughout the past two years,the Mukilteo School District has experienced the tragic loss of four innocent souls. These beautiful individuals felt the need to take their own life. Students grieved and mourned over the loss of their friends and family with absolutely no support from their school district. Please help to take a stand against the Mukilteo School District until they decide to make a change. Students should be informed by a professional about the signs of mental health disorders and how they can get help, as well as have the support students need from their school to grieve and mourn properly.
When will they realize that informing their students can only benefit and reduce the chances of these tragic events repeatedly occurring?

While the school district did bring in counselors to help students after the loss of Quinn, Mason and Preston, temporary help is not enough. A week or two of support is just band aid. Mukilteo School District, please invest in our children. They are our future.
I hope the Mukilteo School District will take the initiative to HIRE outside Well Educated Professionals who can help implement new educational measures and also speak in assemblies in order to educate the students and staff concerning the thoughts of suicide and depression.
Our family is grieving the loss of one of the students who took his life, and forever will... Obviously there needs to be changes made to support these kids. During the school year they spend more time at school sometimes than home. The school support should be there and maybe these tragedies could be a lot less. Please help these kids and there families!!!!
Losing Mason was the worst thing Ive ever had to go through. Its heartbreaking that my sibling has to go through that too. This needs to be addressed.
Mental health should be just as acknowledged as physical health. If students are required to take physical education, there should definitely be some kind of positive mindfulness education put in place.
Being a school district they should know that Knowledge is a powerful thing. To sweep this under the rug all the time does MORE damage.
Everyone should be signing this petition. No one deserves feel hopeless like this

If the state can mandate HIV awareness and prevention for students it needs to do the same for suicide and mental health! Snohomish county has the highest rate of suicides in the nation- let's be known not for the loss of life but rather for the education and change of these stats in the next year!
