To; The Texas Board of Parole Members Dear Members,

We are writing to you regarding a Christopher Diaz (22) who has been sentenced to three years in the Texas Departmentof Criminal Justice system for possession of a controlled substance, 1/2 oz. of cannibas, a non-violent crime. We are asking you to grant Christopher's parole out of the Brown County Jail, not subjecting him to prison for a non-violent offense.

Furthermore, we are aware that Christopher will have accrued all of some eight months served, that is 240 days, 111 of which were spent in solitary confinement. Eligibility, we believe, is an option for a first-time/non-violent offender.

Christopher is a loving father of two beautiful children who cares nothing more than being with them now. We feel that subjecting Christopher to the Texas prison system will put his life in jeopardy to an extreme degree, given his lifelong advanced asthma condition, breathing problems and frail health. He was recently rushed to the hospital with 103 temperature.

We again ask you, with deepest respect, to have compassion for Christopher.

Updates

June 20, 2012

We are currently finalizing a formal document detailing Christopher's medical records to submit directly to the parole board. This evidence is critical for demonstrating that his health risks demand immediate release. Please stay prepared for further instructions on how to support this upcoming submission.

June 20, 2012

The volume of support has reached a level that allows us to formally advance our case to the board members. We are finishing the final draft of the legal brief summarizing the medical risks and will submit it for review alongside this list of signatories.

I realize this is over a decade old. Signing for the principle. TX laws still haven't changed and it's outrageous.

Texas justice system is broken. This kid needs his inhaler not a prison cell. Disgraceful.
