This is quite obviously an error to move a woman away from her husband and interrupt the end of her studies. It makes no sense to waste tax payer money on detaining a woman with the intent of deporting her when doing so would potentially jeopardise her life. She has demonstrated her ability to embrace being a member of our society and we in return should want to support her by ensuring she can continue to build her new and fruitful life here.

This kind of action is symptomatic of a government that has lost all humanity not to mention reasonable due process

As an EAL/D teacher as familiar with the students of Yeronga SHS I know that the way we handle young people needs to be very different to that of adults. When young people are getting on with their lives and building a future we should help them. we need more citizens who are making a go of life in Australia.

I want to be a citizen of a country that respects the humanity of all people. I am ashamed at what has happened to Mojgan and others like her.

This is completely unreasonable and goes completely against Human Rights. There is something very wrong with a country that deports victims of sexual abuse who are trying to gain an education, while allowing others who are like the man responsible for the Lindt Café atrocity to stay. Should it not be the other way around?

Mojgan should be granted asylum. No child should have to experience what she has. Please free Mojgan!

Hey Milad, I had the pleasure of meeting you and Mojgan at last Townsville Cultural Festival, I can't imagine how painful this experience has been for you, my heart goes out to you both. I'm completely ashamed of our immigration laws, it's outrages such beautiful and goodhearted people like you and Mojgan are going through this. I'm on your side.

The very existence of this case is ample proof that there needs to be serious reform in Australian immigration law.
I urge the Australian Government to review this situation and act according to right reason, and in the duty of their government office, to protect the common liberties of Australians and those from foreign lands, who justly and peacefully seek asylum.

Our governments ruling on asylum is confronting and bares harsh implications for those caught in the struggle for freedom. I support this case for freedom and urge the government to show mercy and compassion to Mojgan Shamsalipoor and reunite her with her husband. I would be devastated, if this ever happened to me and I was separated from my wife due to the same circumstances. I appeal to every human who has a heart and understanding to sign this petition also.

Another example of the current government's disregard of human rights. This would be decried as a human rights abuse if it had happened in another country.
