Our government's treatment of Mojgan is, to my mind, unfathomable. It is a sign of the ignorance, arrogance and cruelty with which people seeking safety and asylum here are treated.

I support you the release from detention for Marjac. Her case or situation falls outside the "mainstream" cases however it appears to be a very genuine case for asylum from human rights abuse in her own country. It would fall in to the exceptional circumstances category I would have thought. Like so many others I ask the authorities to apply compassion and common sense in this case.

This just goes to show the absurdity of Australia's immigration policy. The response by the Immigration Department, Government and Peter Dutton is appalling. Both major parties should hang their heads in shame. The sooner this decision is overturned and Mojgan is released the better.

This young married woman should be freed to live in Australia with her husband and pursue her intended career, in a way that will benefit many n the wider society.
Meanwhile Minister Dutton goes from bad to appalling in his lamentable human rights decisions in this country.
