I am signing this petition because I have a heart and feel that this is a disgrace. My heartfelt sorrow for the pain that they are both suffering.

Where is the Humanity? It's a disgrace, an embarrassment, but mostly a shame that the Country I live in would treat people in this manner. I can't even comprehend this.

This is inhumane. She is obviously going to be a productive member of society.

How can we treat people so cruelly in Australia? this is outrageous and the government and government agencies should be investigated and held to account.

Shameful - please know this is not the Australian people but a government we all hate and dispise!

Separating families is inhumane and not the Australian way, no matter how much the Liberals may be trying to change that. Release all people in immigration detention and place them within the community. Let's follow the New Zealand example of community detention ASAP.
