Let these lawfully married people be reunited, here in Australia. Treated like a criminal, for nothing.

If we are truly a lucky and free and enlightened society, how can we let this happen? There must be a way to consider what is right and humane beyond a set of rules once someone has been living productively in our community. This kind of treatment can only breed grief and resentment. In all conscience, we can do much better in how we treat all people and how we carry ourselves in the world. How will our generation be regarded by future ones for our human rights record?

Mandatory Detention of Refugees is just pandering to the Ignorant Racist attitudes of white big-city bigots. Tony Abbott has exploited this racism for political gain, and inflamed racial tension across Australia. He is to blame.
