i currently live with my father , partner and 2 children ,my farther is the tenancy holder and is moving from area due to being mad redundant [ the house has allready been assigned once back in 2007 when my parents got devorced ] and iv been told when he moves myself and my family have to move too i have lived in this house for 16 years since i was 12 yrs old we live in a rural village with no busses , shops etc and nearest town is 6 miles away when house come avalible throw the council they allways find it difficult to rent due to our location and they have thought about selling homes in our area before . if we carnt find another home by auguest we have been told we would be put into sheltered accomidation which means we could be chucked anywhere my partner could loose his job if we move too far and my children would have to change schools , my son has learning difficulties and we are finally getting the help he needs at his school and up rooting him would set him back please help us by signing our petition so we can stay in our home thank you xx

I have been spending so much time on the phone with housing officers lately and it is honestly just exhausting trying to explain why moving my son now would be a disaster for his learning progress. It feels like they look at a spreadsheet instead of looking at our actual lives in this village but I am still trying to pull together all the paperwork to prove we have really put down roots here over the last sixteen years.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people seem to care about us keeping our roof over our heads because I really did not think anyone outside our tiny village would pay attention. It feels like maybe there is a real chance to keep the kids in their schools and stop the council from forcing us into a place that makes no sense for my son and his needs.

Keeping a kid with learning difficulties in a stable environment is basic common sense. Why make life so hard for a family?

Ridiculous. Council knows fine well nobody else is gonna want that place anyway. Just let them stay!

Sheltered accommodation for a working family?? What a joke. The system is broken
