Recreation utilizes only a limited portion of the JDSF leaving tens of thousands of acres available for timber management. It is a small concession for public support of timber management.

We must protect and preserve the treasure trove of trails that exist in JDSF by finally establishing an official Recteation Mandate.

I walk this forest daily from my home. It's why I live here. I would like a seat at the table.

Recreation as part of the Forest Mandate, at the same recognition level as Logging and Education, is the goal. And the have some part of the revenue from the THP's come back to the Forest to maintain and develop Recreation. Wouldn't that be something?!

Allowing a highly destructive industry to (once again) destroy other, far more beneficial & appropriate uses of public property is immoral, unjust & reprehensible.

I am not against logging but these special places must be set aside.
