Help make Mental Health appointments online and mobile.
There are millions of individuals out there suffering with mental health disorders. Many in which are unable to keep up with making in-person appointments.

Just to list a few of many: Anxiety, Depression, Agoraphobia, Insomnia, PTSD, etc.

These people are asked to drive, commute, walk, bike, travel away from their own comfort zone, around people, and keep up with their weekly or monthly appointments. Sometimes more. This is the ONLY way that they are able to receive help!

Mental disorders can and are usually very debilitating to the individual. Making it near impossible to even get out of bed some days, let alone travel outside the home.

When the individuals are not able to keep up with their in-person appointments, they are seen as "Not trying hard enough." I find this to be a very ignorant statement. These people try every day just to even get out of bed, eat, anything!

I think there needs to be a drastic change to help these individuals who are unable to make their appointments. I believe there should be a personal choice with the treatment plan.

I suggest that Mobile or Skype appointments should be made available.

Mobile or Skype appointments should be offered to these patients to ensure their well being, and to help simplify things for the individuals suffering.

It would be simple. A mobile or Skype appointment would be just like any other appointment. It is scheduled, and would be as simple as your counselor, Doctor, psychiatrist, etc dialing a number.

No one has to leave, and these individuals will be keeping their appointments and receiving the care and understanding that they need to get better.

If you do not have Skype, web cam, microphone and internet access, Then you would receive a mobile phone appointment. You would of course start off by answering security questions to prove who you are. This should be available to anyone in the U.S thanks to the free Obama Budget phones.

I feel very strongly about this, and think a change should be made. These people try so very hard, and are belittled so often on paper because, "They never made the effort to receive care or make their appointments."

It is not like that at all! Please help make this change by signing this petition.

It could honestly save more lives than you think.
