Let her cheer! Varsity has a program called the sparkle effect. Maybe they should look into that!

There is no reason why they can or will not let a special needs child on the team. If she is in competitive cheer then there is no reason why she shouldnt be allowed to cheer at football games or basketball games. This school is a disgrace. She just wants to be like everyone else. Dont hold her back from that or she will think she is different.

I cheered as well as my wife at UofL and with some of the people you all know at CA and I'll tell you the sport has lost a lot of what cheering started from which was spirit! I'm all about her getting on that team and so should everyone else! School spirit is what cheering is about and I guarantee she has more of that than anyone else. To all my old teammates past present and future, we love you guys! Good luck sweetie and don't quit pushing till you guys make this happen! You deserve it. God bless

Please provide needed accommodations for Maddie to be a Middle School Cheerleader. She is full of passion for cheer & could be such an asset to your school cheer team! Thank You!

I believe that all kids no matter what maybe "wrong" with them be give the chance to cheer! It's a form of self expression and it's also allows children to feel included and worthwhile. This little girl should be no different, as a former cheerleader who went to schools that had no one with disabilities on our squads, I urge this school to break this horrible cycle and do what they know is right even if it isn't easy. Be light that give these beautiful children hope for the future endeavors rather than snuffing out their dreams so young. Cheer on!
