As a middle school cheer sponsor, I think this is a great idea. Maddie should definitely have accommodations to help make her tryout experience more fair.

School should look at Aidan Killoran case. Courts have ruled that the school district should have included him in his regular middle school,. Their failure to provide even minimal help here does not show them in a very good light !

Maybe you can suggest that she is with the team as a mascot like cheer at the home games with them. Let her be in uniform with them and maybe cheer half the game there is many ways they can make this work!!!

I hope Mayor Athis knows about this, he is an awesome leader and I can't believe he would have something to say on the subject. What kind of message are we sending to the kids??!!!!!

As long as Maddie is not putting anyone in danger, she should be taken more seriously at the tryout and given a chance to show school spirit!

This school would be absolutely blessed to have her on the cheer team and the fact there is still issues like this that exist in today's world is absolutely ridiculous.

Have you tried going to school board officials? The cheer sponsor should be ashamed for not giving Madison a chance. You can sign a complaint in school administration office. Good luck! Hope she gets her chance,.
