The school is breaking federal law by forcing her into a segregated special class! They are to place her in her least restrictive environment with all tools necessary in that environment for her to succeed! And the least restrictive environment is always the typical classroom with typical peers first! And then if that doesn't work, you modify it.

I have a friend thats like a brother to me who has downsyndrome and we try to let him do everything he wants because it makes him happy we dont care who judges us. I want maddie to be happy and confident doing what she loves to do. I dont know her but she deserves to be happy and confident in everything she does .

I hope they let her on the team!!! She works hard and deserves this! And good for you, fighting for your daughter and every other child that just wants to be included like everyone else! There's NO reason they can't be on the team!

My daughter was excused by her secondary school last week to compete at NCA, Dallas. Let Maddie go. This is wxperience you cannot teach in a classroom from a book!!!
