as a special needs teacher, mother of a college (former CA) cheer leader and school cheer sponsor, I feel very strongly that giving Madison the accommodations asked for is critical. Having an athlete like Madison on the team will do nothing but good for all involved.

What a positive example the school would be to the entire community to allow this young girl the opportunity to do what she loves ... life is going to be hard enough with special needs. Let's bring some joy to her life !

the problem with cheerleaders now is that so many do it for the popularity. cheer programs need girls who cheer because they have a PASSION for it. it seems to me that maddie has this passion like nobody else. she deserves every opportunity to shine. i truly hope GISD opens their eyes and their hearts to this situation because it is absolutely heartbreaking.
