I was on the cheer and/or Pom squads for most of high school and I would've have loved to be apart of something so special for this girl- it would have made me, the team, and the entire school better people for having experience this with her. Please don't hold her back! So proud of her for her perseverance and drive!

I personally think Maddie is too good for this team and they don't deserve her but I'm signing the petition to get the awareness out there.

As a former Special Athletes All Star coach and current High School Coach I would love to have a special needs athlete on my team! There really should be no need to actually tryout and so the fact that the family is asking for reasonable accommodations shows they are committed to making sure their student athlete is a valuable and contributing member of the team. If the concern is using a school owned uniform on this athlete perhaps the school could pursue a grant from the Sparkle Effect organization which provides help to offset the costs of having Special Needs athletes on a school team.

I just hope they will change their mind, cause probably she will bring more energy and probably she has more perseverance more than any other athletes on the team !
