It is vital that this inlet be dredged as soon as possible. I have been transiting this inlet several times a week for the past few months and without a doubt, this inlet is dangerous to all but the most experienced boaters.

This is a very important inlet to myself. Not only do I use this inlet often i have very good friends that make a living using this inlet daily as charters captains and have even been witness to this inlet using by emergency personal to assist both citizens and vacationers! This is a very important inlet for both Holden and Oak island beaches and I believe we owe it to both to keep it safe and reliable to both make a living and enjoy these beautiful islands.

PLEASE DREDGE THIS INLET. Many people would like to use it and not only will it hurt the Charter captains but also the individuals, tourists and residents as well. It can and will become economically AND environmentally harmful to NOT do this.

It will be a huge economical mistake if Holden and Oak Island do not participate in the funding for the dredging of Lockwood Folly inlet.

This inlet not only provides access to the open water for the many boaters from OKI and Holden, but is key to the many anglers that travel from surrounding states to vacation on Oak Island to fish the west end called the point. The closing of this inlet will all but eliminate the revenue Oak Island alone receives from thousands of vacationing anglers.

I am a captain for Sea Tow. I can verify that this inlet along with shallotte inlet are where most people run aground because at low tide they are both almost impossible to pass with larger vessels.
