We've demonstrated intent and we are steadily putting in place even more measures to ensure we deliver on our obligations. Please reconsider and help us grow in order to satisfy both your pay back requirements AND the needs of Jamaicans who are suffering.

Many of current rich countries received post war debt forgiveness. Could the IMF not show some understanding of Jamaica s difficulties by reducing significantly the required primary surplus .

The petition is well argued. Reducing the primary surplus requirement will free up billions that can be used to stimulate growth.

Let's not create another Greece through these stringent austerity measure, especially since Jamaica is not likely to be given the bailout opportunities that Greece has been given.

While we expect things to be difficult, the current IMF plan breaks the spirit of the people the country needs to help (re)build.
