it's understandable that the immigrants aren't from our country, but it's inhumane to not give them the necessities they need in the detention centers. It's cruel to keep them in that way. Based on many articles, reporters claim that the state that the people live in are in horrible conditions, the centers are overcrowded, have poor service, don't get medical treatment. Statistics show that most of the 48% of detained immigrants stay in those facilities for at least about 2-4 years. Right now we are all in a tough situation with COVID-19. It was really unexpected and it struck us hard. Since most of the detention centers are overcrowded and unsanitary it can increase the numbers of people being infected which will take a longer time for the Virus to go away. The point is by signing this petition, we can together help the people get out of this situation and reduce the COVID-19 numbers.

The lack of response from the officials has been discouraging but I am still spending my evenings sending out reports on these conditions. It is difficult to look at the stories of these people and see how little the current situation has changed despite our persistent efforts.

Reaching this level of support has been heavy to process considering how long this fight for basic human dignity has felt. These conditions are still unacceptable and I am exhausted by the slow pace of change, but seeing you choose to care keeps me moving forward.

The color of your skin shouldn’t define the way you get treated. No matter what we are all made up of the same things. We shouldn’t mistreat someone just because they aren’t from here. I understand they come in here illegally, but have you ever wonder why they do that? Maybe is because in their home country it’s absolutely awful and they just want to do better for their families and I understand many of you might disagree and say well why don’t they deal with it in their country? If you were in their shoes you wouldn’t last a day. It’s easier said than done. I think we should give more opportunities to those who truly deserve it. We should all come together as a whole. We shouldn’t separate anyone.

covid is already bad enough without cramming people into those dirty places. change this now.

fr they work the hardest and actually try to have a batter life here bc its messedup in mexico in certain spots i personally go to mexico every now an then to visit my fam an the cartel is what takes care of them thats sum yall should think abt when thinking racist stuff
