There are any number of local sites, vacant and available if such a facility is even needed. There is also great potential for expanding the traffic nightmare that already exists numerous times a day at that very busy intersection.

There is already too much development along 25A, and way too much traffic.

Far too many historical properties have been allowed to be developed (i.e. TD Bank on New York Avenue) and this is one that should not be developed as another medical center. You can't sneeze in Huntington without hitting a medical complex of some sort. Any development needs to take into consideration the surrounding area's historic properties. Do not allow this property to become an eyesore. Too much traffic is already in the area. We need a less invasive, offensive alternative.

Please do not destroy the Historic aspect of this area. It will impact in a very negative way the very charm of our village. I agree to offer the developer something else. Town Supervisor Mr. Petrone, are you really trying to keep Huntington one of the best places on the north shore?

Why can't they use one of the vacant buildings for this project? This corner is congested as it is now. A commercial building would cause a mess at this intersection.

I am opposed to any more building around the Historial District. The traffic around Huntington is impossible now

Please - is everything in Huntington Village 'for sale to the highest bidder'? Declare this site historic, preserve the quality of this town and offer the developer something else.

Adding more traffic to this area is dangerous.Traffic at Park Ave. & 25A this morning (Monday) at 9 AM was backed up all the way back to Temple Beth El.Keep in mind that's with a lot of people on vacation & schools closed. This is the main access route to Huntington Hospital used by it's employees, visitors, etc. Emergency vehicles have a difficult time navigating thru what is typically a very congested intersection.

This corner is already a bad traffic bottleneck. In the past, cars entering and exiting the property held up traffic badly.

Declare the site an historic landmark and build something that re-creates the look of the historic Platts Tavern.

Huntington's history is much more important than any commercial development. Why do we need to build on every piece of open land? The property should be purchased under the Environmental Open Space and Park Fund.

yes, we agree. This is a busy corner and traffic already backs up due to the hospital.

I absolutely agree that any commercial development in this area would be completely detrimental!
