Okay this is never going to work + the comment I made like two weeks ago was for my friend. Honestly I like homework, it makes me feel like I’m learning. Hw is to learn from mistakes so you can get it right. + teachers are now making fun of this. So please stop signing this petition. Also may I add on this person doesn’t go to Forsyth county schools anymore. Thank you everyone.

dont get me wrong - i fully support this petition and its cause. thank u to who made it. i just dont see what teachers can do. u cant ban homework. u cant ban tests or quizzes. foco’s schools are stressful because tehy expect great things and we students feel obligated to meet those expectations. i understand that there is a limit. sleep > schoolwork. signing this petition is not going to get us our sleep back. it will just raise unrealistic expectations for all of the students especially those at sfms. good luck with your cause though.

Teachers are piling lot of work on us and I think they need to chill. We are in middle school and I understand that some of us take the chance of taking all advanced classses but teachers need to plan better and help us out here!

I don’t think that this petition should even be here! It’s stupid and there is literally NOTHING it can do to help us. Showing our teachers a bunch of signatures is not going to help. Not trying to be rude, but I don’t see why we are signing this, especially because the person who made it doesn’t live here anymore. I admit, our stress and homework sucks but I don’t understand what this petition can do. It promises “big changes” but really, you will ALWAYS have too much homework guys. It’s life. I hate to be negative but it’s the truth. I’m signing this because I want change, but I know that it really won’t happen. I also know many of you know the same thing.

I heard about this cause from a friend and I entirely support it. As a student who has struggled which anxiety and depression for years, I’ve barely been able to make it through a school that gives a very minimal amount of homework. I can’t even imagine what it’s like for these students, much less the ones with mental health issues. I hope these kids can make a change in their school and I’m proud of them for taking a stand for themselves. I wish you all the very best of luck.

Thanks Ansley (apparently you made this?). Haven’t seen you in like three years but I miss you and wow I completely agree with this. School is really stressful and it’s only middle school. Imagine how much worse high school’s gonna be.

Just don’t give homework on the weekends unless if REALLY!!!!!!!! Needed because that is our break time and we need to spend time with family

I agree with this petition. After spending 8 hours at school, I come home with 3-4 hours worth of homework leaving me no time to spend with family and friends. Knowing that not finishing my homework will result in a discipline slip the next day, I force myself to stay up until 11-12 each night. Teachers call the amount of homework they give us minimal. In reality, it is the complete opposite. People participate in clubs, sports, and other activities. We students do not have enough time to balance all of this out and still continue to be healthy. This comment was written at 11:00 after finishing my homework which I started on as soon as I got home.

I’ve definitetly felt the same level of stress. I am in what’s supposed to be a “college prep” school, but I think it just makes them justify the unnecessary workload with a fancy title.

FCS needs a change, we are all so stressed out and I go to bed the EARLIEST 11:30!! We have other lives outside of school ! We need to take care of our body’s !!!! We should want to learn ... we shouldn’t make our parents fight us to get up in the morning ... we have other stuff to do rather than sit here doing homework that does no use to us

I am either working from until I get home from school up until midnight till I finish my homework, or I except the fact that I can’t get it done and know that I will get detention for not finishing my homework. After 8 hours at school, I have to come home to another 4-6 hours doing homework. I don’t get to spend this time with my family, friends, or just to have alone time and relax.
