Manhattan Center for Science and Math exists to provide an opportunity for young people and educated staff to be enriched in a well-rounded curriculum that teaches academic, life skills and self-esteem in a positive and serious environment against educational discrimination, biases, unfair treatment, and deprived environments in a school system. Additionally in order to provide us young people with a the idea of success and a great future, the school will be a vehicle to spur us toward virtues such as commitment to excellence, selflessness, respect for authority, and an appreciation for unity. In doing this the first examples begin with the leaders of our building-the principal, assistant principal, administrative staff and other adult figures i.e. PTA, Para's, Aides etc. While in no way a disrespect for our families, local community, or school it is our hope that this petition will provide a wake up call to all the recent negative events that are taking over our school. We need good teachers to be recognized and given the freedom to better us students, and for the staff to be unified. We want more Mr. Silver's in our community as we have been inspired by him and many other adult figures from the security guard to the librarian. This petition will help us save our school to always be an enriching complement for our educational institutions as well as to each member the MCSM community.
