Children in war-torn countries often live under unimaginable circumstances. Violence, poverty and disease are destroying their countries, societies, and communities. It’s time for this injustice to stop. Canada views itself as a philanthropic nation. But the truth is, Canada spends an abysmal 0.28% of our gross national income on overseas development assistance. And yet the United Nations Target of 0.7% was set by our very own Lester B. Pearson in 1969. Most developed countries have committed to reaching this by 2015. Let’s ask our government to do the same.
