Although he has been away for more than half of his life he has managed to make a positive impact in the lives of others. He has been a father to my friend and a grandfather to her boys. He has accepted and given love that only a father/grandfather can. If he has been able to be such a positive influence locked away, imagine given the chance, how this man could love and help his family and community. No one is asking that the reason he was incarcerated be forgotten, but forgiveness is important. Without it we live in the past and our hatred eats us alive.
